Sustainability
For 45 years, Seasalt has grown from a love of Cornwall’s coastline, countryside and outstanding natural environment.
In 2024 we received the 'Drapers - Sustainable Store Design Award', reflecting our store design key principles - Sustainability, Flexibility and Economy.
Creating positive, lasting change
Read our Impact reportIn 2024 Seasalt became B Corp certified, playing our part in a global community of businesses that meet high standards of social and environmental impact.
We achieved a fantastic score of 100.2, against the sector benchmark of 80.7, which is a true testament to the hard work, dedication and adaptability of all our people.
We guide and support our employees, partners and customers in making considered and confident choices for people and the environment. To do this, we’re embedding sustainability in the heart of our business at every level, in every team.
What this means for our people
Volunteering
We take our social responsibility seriously and want to do good things for the communities that surround us. Our Seasalt volunteering programme offers everybody across the business the opportunity to take paid time out every year to support causes they believe in.
Getting involved in volunteering activities boosts our collective happiness and gives a real sense of purpose. Volunteering opportunities are posted on our intranet, and we track the hours completed (up to a two full days per person, each year) to chart progress.
By the end of 2025, we achieved our volunteering goal of 20,000 hours - a huge team effort!
Sustainability training
We’re committed to reducing the environmental impact our business has on the planet. As part of our induction programme, each new team member will follow the journey of our famous Sailor Top and learn about the environmental impacts at each stage of its production.
Considered partnerships
We’re building partnerships with businesses who can support our social standards and environmental ambitions. We’re part of the Ethical Trading Initiative (ETI), which requires every supplier we work with to operate, as we do, according to an internationally recognised labour code.
Community outreach
As part of our commitment to outreach, we’re advocating for change within our communities and industry, and building partnerships with local charities and educational providers. We’re funding the work of Cornwall Wildlife Trust in reviving dwarf seagrass meadows as part of its action against climate change. While acting as a valuable habitat for marine life, seagrass also captures carbon 35 times faster than tropical rainforests, making this a landmark study.
